What is Synvestor?
It is our annual start-up pitch competition where students will pitch a new business idea to 5 investors. Contestants also have the chance to win advancement opportunities.
Requirements:
Be a current university student
Undergrad, Graduate, or PhD etc.
Be in a group of 2 to 5 people
Have a creative business idea ready to show-off!
Last Date to register :- March 7th 2020
Event dates:
1st and 2nd week of April 2021. The Final round of the competition will take place April 15th.

1st week
There will be conferences and workshops facilitated by various venture capitalist, entrepreneurs, and investors. Teams are required to attend the events to learn more about many impactful business concepts.
2nd week
There will be 3 required rounds for the the teams to participate. The finalists will be announced.
Rounds
The first round will be a practice round for teams to get familiarized with the format of the event. No teams are elimated.
The second round will be the semi-final round where teams will be eliminated.
The third round is the final round where teams will either win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.
Practice Round: April 1st, 2021

Each slot will be 30 minutes long (you will be allotted 15 minutes for your pitch, and 15 minutes for feedback/questions)
Professors will be judging your pitch during the practice round
You are done after your pitch (you are not allowed to watch anyone else’s to avoid cheating/plagiarism)
NO ELIMINATIONS! (recommended to practice, but not mandatory)
First Round: April 8th, 2021
Location: Virtual (Zoom Link)

Professors will be judging your pitch during the first round
You are done after your pitch, but welcome to watch others’ presentations
ELIMINATIONS IN THIS ROUND
Reconvene at end to announce finalists (# of Teams TBA)
Final Round: April 15th, 2021 - 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM

ENTRY FEE
As this is our first kickoff for the event and we are in the making of establishing our roots at University of Illinois-Chicago, our executive team has decided to omit an entry fee for this event.
As we progress through, we hope to raise a cash/investment prize for the winning teams, which will require an entry fee to the Synvestor competition and we shall inform you when the time has come. Please take advantage to showcase your unique business idea at Synvestor with an entry fee of $0!
